ANNE WIGGS, MA, LPC-INTERN
Anne has a Master’s degree in professional Counseling from Texas Wesleyan University. She is working towards her independent license in professional counseling and is supervised by Jennie Fincher, Ph.D., LPC-S. Anne has an interest in helping those with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, dealing with difficult medical diagnoses, and PTSD. She enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults, as well as first responders. Her background includes 13 years working in a busy 9-1-1 center where she helped develop a course to teach the MHMR community ho and when to use 9-1-1.

Anne’s experience includes working with children and adolescents, in a group setting as well as individually, with a variety of issues. She also has experience working with adults on various things such as depression and anxiety.Anne’s primary theoretical approach centers around Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and the idea that it is not the negative events in our lives that upset us so much, but rather our thoughts and beliefs about them. Anne believes that by working collaboratively in therapy clients can identify these self-defeating thoughts and beliefs and modify them into healthier patterns of thought. In this way clients are able to work towards a happier, healthier life. Anne’s studies abroad in London focused on brief therapies (solution Focused and Narrative Therapies).
